Let’s set the record straight: H5 is not a traditional e-discovery vendor. Below are some of the more salient points that explain what sets us apart.
H5 does not sell software.
We don’t sell litigation support software, search tools, or software as a service. We also don’t sell any other traditional litigation support services (such as scanning or hosting).
H5 does not compete with software or search tool vendors.
Because we are not in the business of selling software, we don’t compete with vendors who are. Our true competitor is the traditional review process itself. Our prospective clients don’t make a choice between H5 and search tool vendors; they make a choice between H5 and a roomful of attorneys using search tools.
H5 does not seek to help the traditional “roomful of attorneys” be more effective.
Rather, we seek to remove the need for the roomful of attorneys altogether by automating the relevancy or responsiveness assessments that the senior litigators would make if they could review all of the documents themselves.
H5 works with clients upfront to perform a thorough benchmark analysis.
We work together with each of our clients to quantify the all-in cost, time to completion, and accuracy of their best review alternative compared to that of H5, so that they can make informed decisions based on reliable data.
H5 does not typically sell to IT or litigation support groups.
We don’t get paid out of IT or litigation support budgets because our process does not involve client use or deployment of software.
H5 offers a fixed, all-in cost for the review project.
By “all-in” we mean all-inclusive, comprehensive, complete: this includes the cost of the core service, all related professional fees, all travel and lodging expenses. H5 provides our clients with a quote for our services in toto -- e.g., “The review of 10 million pages for the following 10 issues will cost $ X.” We don’t burden our clients with any setup fees, user fees, project management fees, monthly per-gigabyte fees, hidden extras, creeping fees, or the like.
