H5 Employees Lend Helping Hand to Redwood Empire Food Bank
Bay Area Company Provides Hands-On Support for Neighbors in Need
H5, a leading eDiscovery company, came out in force to support the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) this past week, prepping food assistance to those impacted by the Napa wildfires that raged through the area earlier this year. Collectively, the team packed 340 food boxes to be distributed to families and sorted and packed 1600 pounds of bread for distribution centers.
The REFB is the largest hunger-relief organization serving north coastal California, from Sonoma County to the Oregon border. Since 1987, the REFB has been helping neighbors in need and currently operates 12 innovative programs under three strategic initiatives – Every Child, Every Day; Senior Security; and the Neighborhood Hunger Network. Since it opened, the REFB has provided food and nourishment to those facing hunger, currently serving 82,000 children, families and seniors in Sonoma County, while striving to end hunger in their community.
The REFB collaborates with local and regional partners to obtain and distribute 15.5 million pounds of food annually, the equivalent of more than 35,000 meals every day.
“H5 is very happy to support this organization and the outstanding work that they do,” said Katie Romweber, H5’s Executive Managing Director of Human Resources. “It’s gratifying to be able to have a hands-on experience and know that your efforts have an immediate impact on people who need help. And we enjoy each other’s company, so we had a very good time doing it!”
